Islamabad, September 19, 2024 – The Europe Today: Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, Yusuf Sharifzoda, met with Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Defense, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, on September 18, to discuss a broad spectrum of Tajik-Pakistani relations, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reported.
During the meeting, the two officials explored key areas of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy, civil aviation, security, and military-technical collaboration. They also exchanged views on the current military-political, economic, and social situation in Afghanistan, emphasizing its direct impact on regional security.
Pakistan commended Tajikistan’s efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, acknowledging its role in fostering regional security.
Additionally, the discussion highlighted the importance of the CASA-1000 energy project, a major initiative aimed at enhancing energy cooperation between Central and South Asia. Both sides stressed the significance of its implementation for the economic development and energy needs of the region.
The meeting reflects the commitment of Pakistan and Tajikistan to strengthening their ties and addressing shared regional challenges.
