Anhui, October 19, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on Anhui Province to fully implement the new development philosophy across all sectors, leveraging its role in multiple national strategies to contribute to China’s modernization. Xi made these remarks during an inspection tour of the province on Thursday and Friday.
During his visit to Tongcheng City on Thursday afternoon, Xi inspected Liuchi Alley, a historical site renowned for its tale from the Qing Dynasty. The story highlights the virtues of neighborhood harmony, as an official and his neighbor resolved their boundary disputes by moving their walls back by a meter. At this site, Xi emphasized the importance of protecting cultural heritage, advancing socialist culture, and promoting traditional Chinese values of harmony and comity.
Following this, Xi visited Hefei Binhu Science City, where he reviewed various significant technological innovations and engaged in discussions with researchers and corporate leaders. He highlighted the critical role of scientific and technological innovation in China’s modernization efforts, urging for greater self-reliance and creativity in the pursuit of technological advancements.
On Friday morning, Xi received briefings from the provincial committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the provincial government. He outlined several directives aimed at enhancing Anhui’s future development. These include expediting technological innovation, transforming and upgrading industries, and fostering international cooperation in science and technology.
Xi stressed the necessity of cultivating new productive forces in accordance with local conditions, while also focusing on the transformation of traditional industries and the growth of emerging sectors. He called for reforms that support high-quality business environments and international investment, along with enhanced rural development services in education, healthcare, and cultural offerings.
Moreover, Xi urged for the integration of culture and tourism, advocating for cultural tourism to become a key industry. He concluded by reaffirming the importance of maintaining Party leadership and ensuring effective economic strategies in the fourth quarter to meet the annual development goals.
