Baku, November 22, 2024 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock on the sidelines of the COP29 climate conference in Baku, according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
The meeting addressed bilateral and multilateral issues, with a particular focus on discussions related to the ongoing negotiations under the COP29 framework. Both sides emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to combat climate change and achieve the conference’s objectives.
In addition to environmental issues, the ministers exchanged views on the regional post-conflict situation and the progress of the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process. They also discussed the challenges facing the peace process.
Minister Bayramov expressed concerns about what he described as a coordinated, biased, and unfounded smear campaign against Azerbaijan, reiterating his country’s position on the matter.
The meeting underscored the need for continued dialogue to address regional challenges and foster bilateral cooperation.
