Beijing, December 3, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Xi Jinping emphasized China’s dedication to enhancing traditional medicine for the global good in a congratulatory message addressed to the 2024 World Conference on Traditional Medicine, which commenced in Beijing on Tuesday.
In his letter, President Xi called for strengthened international cooperation in the medical and health sectors to collectively tackle global health challenges. He underscored the importance of promoting a “global community of health for all,” encouraging efforts from all nations to achieve this goal.
“China is ready to collaborate with the international community to deepen mutual learning in traditional medicines, integrate them further into the global health system, and drive the innovative transformation and development of traditional medicine culture,” Xi stated.
Highlighting China’s approach to healthcare, Xi reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to maintaining a balanced focus on both modern and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). He noted that this dual emphasis has shaped a unique and effective development path for TCM within China’s healthcare system.
The 2024 World Conference on Traditional Medicine is jointly organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Chinese entities, including the National Health Commission. The conference aims to foster global dialogue on the role of traditional medicine in addressing contemporary health challenges.
