Baku, December 9, 2024 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to approve the “Protocol of Amendment to the Agreement on a Strategic Partnership in the Field of Green Energy Development and Transmission” involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary.
The Protocol, signed on September 3, 2024, in Bucharest, strengthens the collaborative framework among the four nations to advance green energy initiatives and ensure the efficient transmission of renewable energy across the region.
With the Protocol’s enactment, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Energy has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of its provisions, reflecting Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering regional cooperation in sustainable energy. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will formally notify the partner governments of Georgia, Romania, and Hungary once the required domestic procedures for the Protocol’s entry into force have been completed.
This agreement underscores Azerbaijan’s active role in promoting green energy solutions and enhancing energy security in collaboration with its regional partners.
