Abu Dhabi, January 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the UAE-based IFFCO Group on the eve of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to the United Arab Emirates. This landmark agreement establishes a foundation for wide-ranging collaborations in agriculture and food industries, strengthening ties between the two nations.
The memorandum outlines key areas of cooperation, including combating counterfeit products, protecting intellectual property rights, increasing import volumes, introducing advanced technologies, developing training programs, and implementing additional industrial projects. As part of the agreement, IFFCO Group will export up to 10,000 tons of vegetable oil and flour annually to Uzbekistan, ensuring high-quality food supplies to the region.
In an effort to uphold product integrity, strict measures will be taken against counterfeiting IFFCO’s products. Additionally, a state-of-the-art Food Safety Center will be established in Uzbekistan under the group’s leadership, enhancing food safety standards and fostering innovation in the sector.
Plans are also underway to launch new projects in Uzbekistan, including facilities for producing tomato paste, vegetable oil, and other essential food products, contributing to the nation’s agricultural development and industrial diversification.
As part of the visit, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, I. Abdurakhmanov, held several high-level meetings, culminating in agreements to deepen bilateral cooperation. These discussions reaffirmed the shared commitment of Uzbekistan and the UAE to advancing mutual interests in the agricultural and food sectors.
This memorandum marks a significant milestone in the partnership between the two countries, promising to boost trade, technology transfer, and sustainable development in Uzbekistan’s agricultural industry.
