H.E. Alisher Tukhtaev and Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan Boost Uzbekistan-Pakistan Partnership

Lahore, February 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: H.E. Alisher Tukhtaev, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, held a productive meeting with the Honorable Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, in Lahore. The discussions centered on expanding bilateral trade, fostering industrial collaboration, and deepening cultural exchanges between Uzbekistan and Pakistan’s most populous province.

In 2024, trade between Uzbekistan and Pakistan surged past $404 million, with both sides committed to sustaining this upward momentum. Punjab and Uzbekistan have agreed to enhance industrial cooperation, establish joint production ventures, and explore new trade opportunities.

Uzbekistan and Pakistan have taken a significant step toward enhancing regional cooperation, marking a new era of partnership in trade, industry, and culture.

Recognizing the deep historical and cultural ties between Punjab and Uzbekistan, both parties emphasized the importance of public diplomacy in strengthening their fraternal relations. The recent “Made in Uzbekistan” industrial exhibition in Lahore was a resounding success, serving as a vital platform for connecting business communities and unlocking new avenues for economic collaboration.

Looking ahead, a high-level business delegation led by the Governor of Punjab is set to visit Uzbekistan to further advance joint projects and solidify this growing partnership. This initiative reflects the shared vision of both regions to harness economic potential and deepen ties for mutual prosperity.
