Baku, February 18, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been unanimously re-elected as President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) for a new four-year term during the 9th General Assembly of the organization.
The General Assembly also elected members of the Executive Committee and the Supervisory Commission. Among those appointed to the Executive Committee alongside President Aliyev were Azer Aliyev, Chingiz Huseynzade, Zemfira Meftahatdinova, Farid Mansurov, Elnur Mammadli, Faig Garayev, Alla Hasanova, Nazim Huseynov, and Namig Abdullayev.
Under President Aliyev’s leadership, Azerbaijan has continued to strengthen its position in the international sports arena, enhancing its Olympic movement and supporting athlete development. The latest elections reaffirm the commitment to further advancing Azerbaijan’s achievements in global sports.
