Islamabad, February 22, 2025 – The Europe Today: At the invitation of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a two-day state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan from February 24 to 25, 2025.
This marks Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s second visit to Azerbaijan since assuming office in March 2024. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and other key members of the cabinet, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its strategic and economic ties with Azerbaijan.
During the visit, both sides will hold comprehensive discussions on matters of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors such as energy, trade, defense, education, and climate. Several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements covering multiple areas of collaboration are expected to be signed, further strengthening the existing partnership between the two nations.
Pakistan and Azerbaijan share a historically strong and brotherly relationship based on mutual trust, understanding, and beneficial cooperation. Azerbaijan remains a key economic and strategic partner of Pakistan, with ongoing collaboration across multiple sectors.
A significant highlight of the visit will be Prime Minister Sharif’s keynote address at a Business Forum, organized in collaboration with the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO). This forum aims to explore new avenues of trade and investment between the two countries.
Additionally, the Prime Minister, alongside President Ilham Aliyev, is expected to visit Fuzuli, as part of a special tour of the liberated territories of Karabakh, symbolizing Pakistan’s strong support for Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit reaffirms Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to strengthening ties with Azerbaijan, fostering economic cooperation, and exploring new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
