Ankara, February 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has strongly rejected any plans to relocate Palestinians to Egypt, Jordan, or any other third country, calling such proposals “unacceptable.”
During a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, Erdoğan reiterated Türkiye’s firm opposition to any forced displacement of Palestinians, according to a statement from the Turkish Communications Directorate.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations, as well as pressing regional and global issues.
On the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye’s continued diplomatic efforts to facilitate a fair and lasting peace. “As a country that has successfully brought both sides to the negotiating table multiple times, Türkiye can contribute to peace talks, including hosting them,” he stated.
He stressed the importance of initiating a negotiation process that does not exclude either party, reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to de-escalation and diplomacy.
The statement further noted that Erdoğan and Macron agreed to enhance coordination between Türkiye and France as NATO allies in addressing key international challenges.
