Baku, February 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of strengthening trade relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan through institutional cooperation. Speaking at the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Business Forum in Baku, he announced the establishment of the Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce in Islamabad, highlighting its role in facilitating bilateral trade.
“The Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce has been established in Islamabad, which will really facilitate our bilateral trade,” Prime Minister Sharif stated during his address.
He further proposed the creation of a Pakistan Chamber of Commerce in Baku to enhance real-time information exchange between business communities in both countries. “I think this is what we should also be doing—having a Pakistan Chamber of Commerce here in Baku so that these chambers can really, in real time, collect information, exchange this information, and pass it on to potential traders and investors, which will be very helpful,” he added.
The business forum served as a platform for government officials and private sector representatives to explore new opportunities for economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding trade volume, increasing investment flows, and fostering sector-specific partnerships.
The establishment of trade chambers in both capitals is expected to play a key role in streamlining business processes, strengthening economic ties, and unlocking new avenues for collaboration between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
