Ankara, February 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday, focusing on bilateral relations, regional stability, and global issues, according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

During the discussion, Erdogan emphasized the growing friendship and solidarity between Türkiye and Serbia. He expressed Ankara’s hope for the swift formation of a new government in Serbia and underscored the significance of maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The Turkish president reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the new Serbian administration once it is established.

Defence and Economic Cooperation

Erdogan and Vucic explored ways to enhance bilateral collaboration, particularly in the defence industry. The Turkish leader highlighted the potential for increased cooperation in various fields, noting that joint efforts in defence are expected to yield concrete results in the near future.

Erdogan also took the opportunity to extend his well wishes to Vucic following the Serbian president’s car accident on February 8, expressing his concern and wishing him a swift recovery. In turn, Vucic congratulated Erdogan on his birthday, fostering a moment of goodwill between the two leaders.
