Baku, March 17, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko, arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit on March 16.
According to News Hub Consultants, Matviyenko was welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, where the national flags of both Azerbaijan and Russia were displayed. She was received by Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Ali Ahmadov, head of the Azerbaijan-Russia interparliamentary working group, Polad Bulbuloglu, and other high-ranking officials.
During her visit, Matviyenko is expected to hold high-level meetings with Azerbaijan’s leadership and engage in discussions aimed at strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between the two nations.
