President Erdoğan Extends Easter Greetings to Christian Community

Ankara, April 20, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan extended warm Easter greetings to all Christians celebrating the religious holiday, reaffirming Türkiye’s commitment to religious freedom and peaceful coexistence.

“I extend my sincere congratulations to our Christian citizens, who belong to various churches and denominations, on the occasion of Easter,” President Erdoğan said in an official statement released on Sunday.

Highlighting Türkiye’s longstanding tradition of cultural and religious harmony, the President remarked, “As members of a civilisation rooted in respect and love, we place great importance on ensuring that all our citizens, who have made Anatolia a land of peace for thousands of years, can freely practice their religion, culture, and traditions.”

Erdoğan expressed hope that the spirit of peace and love brought by Easter—symbolizing unity, fraternity, and sharing—would continue to inspire humanity.

“With these sentiments, I once again celebrate the Easter holiday of all Christians, especially our Christian citizens, and convey my best wishes for peace and well-being,” he concluded.
