Ankara, March 3, 2026 – The Europe Today: Türkiye’s exports reached $21.06 billion in February, marking a 1.6% increase compared to the same month last year, Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference in the capital Ankara, Bolat said the country managed to boost exports despite challenging international economic conditions and ongoing geopolitical tensions.
According to the minister, exports rose by $336 million year-on-year in February. However, he noted that the overall growth was constrained by declines in specific sectors.
“There is a $415 million decrease in processed gold and jewelry exports, and a $515 million decrease in petroleum oils,” Bolat stated, adding that the nearly $1 billion combined drop in these two categories limited Türkiye’s ability to achieve record-breaking figures.
For the January–February period, Türkiye’s total exports amounted to $41.4 billion, reflecting a 1.2% decline compared to the same period last year.
Meanwhile, imports totaled $30.27 billion in February, representing a 6.1% year-on-year increase. In the first two months of the year, imports reached $58.96 billion, up 3.1%, according to data released by the Trade Ministry.
Despite sectoral setbacks, officials emphasized the resilience of Türkiye’s export performance amid global uncertainties.
