Jakarta, June 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto marked Pancasila Day with a call for Indonesia’s young generation to become the torchbearers of the nation’s foundational ideology, urging them to not only memorize Pancasila but to live by its values in their daily actions and character.
“The Golden Generation is at the forefront of keeping Pancasila alive—not just by memorizing it, but by embracing it as a guiding principle for their journey into the future,” read a post on the President’s official Instagram account, @Presidenrepublikindonesia, on Sunday.
Pancasila Day, celebrated annually on June 1, commemorates the birth of Indonesia’s state ideology. In his message, President Prabowo emphasized that the younger generation must take the lead in demonstrating Pancasila through real, meaningful contributions, reinforcing its relevance as the ideological foundation of the nation’s future.
The President’s message is closely tied to the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, a national goal aimed at making Indonesia a fully developed country by the centenary of its independence. Prabowo reaffirmed Pancasila’s role as a unifying and guiding force for the nation in an increasingly complex and globalized world.
“Let’s continue to uphold the Pancasila ideology and work toward a strong, united Golden Indonesia 2045. Happy Pancasila Day!” he declared.
In support of the nationwide commemoration, the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) has issued Circular Letter No. 5 of 2025, outlining guidelines for the observance of Pancasila Day this year.
A central ceremony is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 2, at 10:00 a.m. local time at the courtyard of the Pancasila Building in Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto is expected to attend and deliver a keynote address, reinforcing the government’s commitment to advancing Pancasila in national development.
This year’s commemoration serves as a reminder of the enduring importance of Pancasila as Indonesia moves forward in unity, diversity, and shared purpose.
