Baku, June 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to energy security, diversification of energy supply, and sustainable development in the field of green energy during his official address to participants of the Baku Energy Week.
In his message, President Aliyev emphasized that these areas remain among Azerbaijan’s top national priorities. He noted that the tangible progress achieved in the energy sector has further strengthened Azerbaijan’s standing as a reliable and responsible partner in the global energy market.
“The large scale and international scope of the event are also evidence of this,” the President stated. “The Baku Energy Week, which has been joined by companies from eighty countries around the world, is an indicator of Azerbaijan’s role in international energy cooperation.”
Highlighting Azerbaijan’s long-term vision, President Aliyev underscored the strategic focus on transforming the liberated territories into a “green energy” zone as a key component of the country’s sustainable energy strategy. He stressed that Azerbaijan’s forward-looking and successful policies have created broad opportunities for sustained development within the energy sector.
“The initiatives we are implementing also reflect our responsible attitude to environmental protection and our claim to leadership in the energy sector,” he added.
President Aliyev also expressed confidence that the Baku Energy Week, known for its strong traditions and openness to innovation, would continue to serve as a vital platform for advancing international dialogue, fostering new partnerships, and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.
