President Prabowo Leads 80th Anniversary Ceremony of Pancasila in Jakarta

Jakarta, June 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto officiated as the inspector of a solemn ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s national ideology, Pancasila, held Monday morning at the Pancasila Building in Central Jakarta.

In his address, President Prabowo underscored the importance of safeguarding and practicing the noble values enshrined in Pancasila, emphasizing that they must remain the guiding foundation for Indonesia’s national development and unity.

The commemoration began at 9:30 a.m. local time with a trumpet fanfare, followed by a formal procession. Marine Colonel Achmad Hadi Al-Hasny, commander of the West Nusa Tenggara Navy Base, served as the ceremony commander.

Held under the theme “Solidifying the Pancasila Ideology towards a Great Indonesia”, the event featured a reading of the Pancasila text and a series of cultural performances celebrating Indonesia’s rich diversity and unity in plurality.

In a nationwide observance, the central government instructed regional governments, Indonesian missions abroad, government agencies, and educational institutions to organize simultaneous ceremonies beginning at 7 a.m. local time.

The Jakarta ceremony was attended by prominent national figures, including Fifth President and Chairperson of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) Steering Council Megawati Soekarnoputri, 10th Vice President Jusuf Kalla, and 6th President Try Sutrisno.

Also present were high-ranking officials and ministers such as Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, TNI Commander General Agus Subianto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra.

Other key attendees included Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Culture Minister Fadli Zon, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister for Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto, and Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

A flag-lowering ceremony is scheduled to take place at approximately 4:00 p.m. local time; however, it will be conducted without the presence of guests.
