President Prabowo Inspects Ronggolawe Horse Cavalry Regiment Headquarters in Jakarta

Jakarta, June 3, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto conducted an official visit to the Ronggolawe Horse Cavalry Regiment headquarters in Pulomas, Jakarta, on Monday (June 2) to inspect the facility, deliver directives to military personnel, and observe the condition of horses that form an integral part of the Indonesian Army Cavalry’s operational and ceremonial strength.

As reported through the official Instagram accounts @presidenrepublikindonesia and @prabowo, the President took time to engage with horse trainers and soldiers stationed at the regiment, including those who recently served as part of the horse-mounted guard of honor for state guests at the Merdeka Palace.

“The President lauded the troops for their dedication in preserving the military cavalry tradition and supporting the development of equestrian sports both nationally and internationally,” read the caption accompanying several photos posted on the President’s official social media account. The images captured President Prabowo inspecting horses in their stables and issuing directives to the cavalry personnel.

The Ronggolawe Horse Cavalry Regiment operates under the Indonesian Army Cavalry Center (Pusat Kesenjataan Kavaleri TNI AD/Pussenkav) and plays a prominent role in state ceremonies. The unit frequently participates in ceremonial processions to welcome visiting heads of state and government at the Merdeka Palace. Notable occasions include the official receptions for Chinese Premier Li Qiang and French President Emmanuel Macron.

During such ceremonies, the horse cavalry unit typically escorts official delegations from the National Monument (Monas) area to the main courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, providing a dignified and traditional welcome in line with Indonesia’s military customs.

President Prabowo, who is personally known for his passion for horse riding, owns several horses and equestrian facilities, including those at his private residence in Bukit Hambalang, Bogor District, West Java.

The visit underscores the President’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the discipline, heritage, and operational readiness of Indonesia’s armed forces, particularly in preserving and promoting cavalry traditions in the modern era.
