Baku, June 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev shared a message on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on the occasion of June 15 — National Salvation Day, a significant date in the country’s modern history.
In his post, President Aliyev paid tribute to the historic importance of National Salvation Day, which commemorates the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to political power in 1993 — a turning point that paved the way for national stability, development, and statehood consolidation in Azerbaijan.
The Head of State highlighted the enduring legacy of Heydar Aliyev and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to the principles of independence, unity, and progress that were firmly established during his leadership.
National Salvation Day is celebrated annually in Azerbaijan to honor the rescue of the country from political turmoil and civil strife during the early years of independence.
