Ankara, June 27, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Thursday reaffirmed Türkiye’s firm stance against any actions that undermine the sovereignty of Qatar, declaring Ankara’s condemnation of “all forms of attacks” that violate the Gulf state’s territorial integrity.
According to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Directorate, President Erdoğan conveyed this message during a phone conversation with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar.
During the call, the two leaders discussed the state of bilateral relations as well as key regional and global developments. President Erdoğan emphasized Türkiye’s unwavering solidarity with its “Qatari brothers,” reaffirming Ankara’s support for the sovereignty and stability of Qatar.
The conversation also touched on recent tensions in the Middle East. President Erdoğan informed the Emir that he had addressed the issue of rising military escalation between Iran and Israel during discussions with several of his counterparts at the recent NATO Summit.
He expressed his hope that all parties would adhere to a de facto ceasefire and that the fragile peace currently in place would be preserved and strengthened moving forward.
The phone call underscored Türkiye’s continued commitment to diplomatic engagement and regional cooperation amid ongoing security challenges in the Middle East.
