Ankara, July 3, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting in Ankara on Wednesday with a delegation from the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, led by Shura Council Chairman Muhammad Darwish, according to sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting focused on the latest developments in ongoing ceasefire negotiations and the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. Foreign Minister Fidan reiterated Türkiye’s firm stance that its foremost priority is to halt the bloodshed in Gaza and ensure the immediate and uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.
Fidan underscored that the recent regional tensions must not distract the international community from the grave humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He stressed that the atrocities committed there must not be forgotten or overlooked.
“Palestine is a unified entity — encompassing Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem,” Fidan stated, reaffirming Türkiye’s unwavering commitment to defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He added that Türkiye would continue to support the Palestinian cause until the Palestinian people attain their rightful freedom and statehood.
The meeting comes amid intensifying diplomatic efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian access in Gaza, where the situation remains dire due to continued violence and blockade-induced shortages.
