Hanoi, July 5, 2025 – The Europe Today: On the occasion of the 249th Independence Day of the United States (July 4, 1776 – July 4, 2025) and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the U.S. (July 12, 1995 – July 12, 2025), Vietnamese leaders extended their warm congratulations to their American counterparts.
Party General Secretary Tô Lâm, President Lương Cường, and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Friday sent congratulatory messages to U.S. President Donald Trump, marking both historic milestones in the two countries’ bilateral relationship.
On the same occasion, National Assembly Chairman Trần Thanh Mẫn conveyed congratulations to James David Vance, President of the U.S. Senate, and Mike Johnson, Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives.
In their messages, the Vietnamese leaders reaffirmed Việt Nam’s consistent recognition of the United States as one of its strategically important partners. They welcomed continued U.S. support for a “strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous Việt Nam.”
Reflecting on three decades of diplomatic relations—especially in the context of the recent elevation of ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership—the leaders expressed satisfaction with the robust development in bilateral cooperation across regional, global, and bilateral levels.
Việt Nam, they noted, remains committed to working closely with the United States to further advance the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more effective, substantive, and practical manner—bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations and contributing to regional and global peace, stability, cooperation, and development.
Also on this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bùi Thanh Sơn sent a congratulatory message to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, highlighting the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement and mutual understanding in strengthening bilateral ties.
