President Ilham Aliyev Meets with Armenian PM Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi to Discuss Normalization Efforts

Abu Dhabi, July 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan held a meeting on Thursday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where they discussed various aspects of the Azerbaijan-Armenia inter-state normalization agenda, according to a statement issued by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The statement emphasized that both leaders confirmed their shared view that bilateral negotiations remain the most effective mechanism for addressing all matters related to the normalization process. It was agreed to continue such dialogue in a result-oriented and constructive manner.

Reviewing progress achieved in the border delimitation process, the sides gave instructions to their respective state commissions to advance practical efforts in this field.

Additionally, the two leaders agreed to continue working toward confidence-building measures between Azerbaijan and Armenia as part of broader efforts to promote lasting peace and stability in the region.

President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also expressed their sincere appreciation to His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates for his gracious hospitality and support in facilitating the bilateral meeting.

The Abu Dhabi meeting is seen as a meaningful step forward in the ongoing efforts to normalize relations between the two neighboring countries following years of tensions and conflict.
