Washington, July 13, 2025 – The Europe Today: U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday publicly defended Attorney General Pam Bondi amid growing criticism from some of his own supporters regarding the Department of Justice’s recent findings in the Jeffrey Epstein case, according to U.S. media reports.
In a lengthy statement on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump dismissed ongoing concerns about Epstein’s death and the alleged concealment of his clientele. “Nobody cares about Epstein,” Trump wrote, adding that further time and resources should not be spent on the matter. He also urged unity among his supporters, praising Bondi’s performance. “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’ They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB! We’re on one Team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening,” he stated.
The remarks came in response to intensifying backlash following a joint memo released Monday by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ), which concluded that there was no credible evidence supporting several long-standing conspiracy theories related to Epstein’s death in federal custody in 2019 and his alleged network of high-profile clients.
Conservative figures including political activist Laura Loomer and entrepreneur Elon Musk criticized Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel for what they described as inadequate transparency and a failure to deliver on earlier promises. Bondi had previously pledged to disclose significant findings, including names and flight logs linked to Epstein’s activities.
Additionally, media outlets including Fox News and NBC News reported internal tensions within the Justice Department, noting that FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has reportedly clashed with Bondi over the matter and is considering resigning. Bongino, a former conservative commentator, along with Patel, had earlier implied that key information about Epstein was being deliberately withheld from the public.
Despite the controversy, Trump’s remarks signal strong support for Bondi, positioning her as a loyal figure within his political camp and aiming to consolidate his base ahead of a potentially contentious election season.
