Ankara, July 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday proclaimed the beginning of a new era for Türkiye, declaring that the government’s long-term vision, the Century of Türkiye, is steadily materializing into reality.
“A new era is dawning for our country. Step by step, we are turning our vision of the Century of Türkiye into reality,” President Erdoğan stated during the 32nd Consultation and Evaluation Meeting of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, held in Ankara.
Addressing the party’s members and national stakeholders, the President highlighted progress under the “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative. “We see that our messages—messages that reassure our friends and brothers while instilling fear in our adversaries and rivals—are reaching their target,” Erdoğan affirmed.
He noted that Türkiye is closely monitoring the disarmament process of the PKK terror group through a joint mechanism led by the National Intelligence Organisation and the Turkish Armed Forces. “We are fully aware of who we are truly fighting—our struggle is not merely against visible actors, but against the power centers that control them,” he added.
The President stressed that the country stands at the threshold of ending nearly five decades of terrorism. “We are on the verge of completely freeing our nation from the shackles of terrorism that were imposed upon it 47 years ago,” he said. “We have already begun to see concrete signs of this.”
Calling for unity among Türkiye’s political spectrum, President Erdoğan urged all parliamentary parties to contribute constructively to this historic process. “No one has the right to derail, undermine, or sabotage this process—especially not for short-term political gains,” he cautioned.
“In life and politics, almost everything can be compensated for, but obstructing a matter this vital—one that affects the unity, solidarity, social peace, and stability of our 86 million citizens—has no redemption,” he warned.
President Erdoğan also emphasized that every policy and action undertaken is carefully considered with the sensitivities of the entire nation in mind. “We act in accordance with the values of our nation, always mindful of our martyrs, our veterans, and the long-term interests of our homeland,” he said.
Underscoring the inclusive responsibility of this new era, he said its success requires engagement from across the political landscape—not just from the AK Party and its allies, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), but also from the Democracy and Equality (DEM) Party and all other political actors.
The remarks reflect Erdoğan’s broader appeal for national unity as Türkiye enters a transformative phase aimed at securing long-term peace, stability, and development under the Century of Türkiye initiative—a strategic vision that defines the country’s aspirations for its second century of republican history.
