Erdogan Welcomes UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed with Official Ceremony in Ankara

Ankara, July 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan formally welcomed President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Wednesday in Ankara with an official state ceremony at the Presidential Complex.

The welcoming ceremony was attended by several high-level Turkish officials, including Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, as well as the head of the National Intelligence Organization, İbrahim Kalın.

The visit marks a significant moment in Türkiye-UAE relations, as it includes the inaugural session of the Türkiye-UAE High-Level Strategic Council, established in 2023. According to Turkish Communications Director Burhanettin Duran, the council’s first meeting will take place during Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s official visit.

Duran noted that the talks, to be held at the Presidential Complex, will focus on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. Discussions will also cover key regional and international developments of mutual concern.

The visit underscores the deepening ties between Ankara and Abu Dhabi, particularly in areas of economic cooperation, security, and regional diplomacy.
