Istanbul, August 1, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish defense firms Titra and Buyutech have signed a landmark agreement to integrate artificial intelligence-powered camera systems into a range of domestically produced unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the companies announced during the IDEF 2025 defense fair held in Istanbul.
Under the deal, Buyutech will be responsible for designing, manufacturing, and installing advanced imaging systems across several UAV platforms developed by Titra, including the Alpin and Alpin-2 unmanned helicopters, the Deli kamikaze drone, the Pars reconnaissance drone, and the Merkut FPV drones, which are developed by Titra’s defense division SAVX.
The integration of these AI-based imaging systems is expected to significantly enhance the drones’ surveillance and targeting capabilities through advanced detection and analysis features, marking a substantial leap forward in Türkiye’s pursuit of cutting-edge, autonomous defense technologies.
Both companies emphasized that the partnership aligns with Türkiye’s broader strategy to develop modular, fully indigenous defense systems in response to increasing global demand for next-generation UAV platforms.
Buyutech, known for its work in Türkiye’s automotive industry, has previously collaborated with major manufacturers such as Togg, Ford Otosan, and Tofaş to produce advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and imaging technologies. The company now plans to increase its camera production capacity from 1 million to 3.5 million units annually, driven by expanding demand from the defense sector.
Buyutech co-founder and CEO Ömer Orkun Duztaş highlighted the company’s mission to contribute to national security through innovation. “Our ideal is to develop technologies that will make everyone feel more peaceful and secure. We’re proud to bring our experience from the civilian sector to support the safety and sovereignty of our country,” he said.
The companies noted that the new generation of AI-powered systems will be adaptable for use on additional platforms beyond the initial UAV models specified in the agreement, further extending the impact of the collaboration across Türkiye’s defense ecosystem.
