Ankara, August 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday that Israel’s decision to take military control of Gaza is “absolutely unacceptable,” according to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.
In a phone conversation, the two leaders discussed Israel’s ongoing attacks on Gaza and reviewed the latest developments in the region. Erdogan reaffirmed that Türkiye will continue to stand firmly with Palestine.
He also welcomed recent statements by France, Britain, and Canada regarding the potential recognition of a Palestinian state, describing them as valuable. Erdogan noted the growing wave of criticism against Israel in the West and stressed that Türkiye will maintain its efforts to promote peace in the region.
