Baku, August 15, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the country’s independence.
In his congratulatory message, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Azerbaijan–Congo relations, noting that bilateral ties are being enriched with new content. He highlighted that President Sassou-Nguesso’s two visits to Azerbaijan last year had given significant impetus to expanding cooperation.
“The friendly relations established between Azerbaijan and the Congo have created a favorable basis and opportunities for the development of our mutually beneficial cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, and other areas,” President Aliyev stated. He expressed confidence that joint efforts would continue to strengthen bilateral relations and deepen cooperation both bilaterally and multilaterally.
On this festive occasion, President Aliyev wished his Congolese counterpart robust health, happiness, and success in his endeavors, and conveyed his best wishes for lasting peace and prosperity to the people of the Republic of the Congo.
