Avaza, August 22, 2025 — The Europe Today: The National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Friday in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
President Aliyev arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit to participate in the trilateral summit in the “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” format, Turkmenistan’s official media reported.
The discussions took place in both one-on-one and expanded formats. The two leaders noted that Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations are becoming increasingly systematic and are strengthening within the framework of a sustainable partnership. Both sides expressed readiness to further develop interstate dialogue, guided by the principles of good neighborliness and mutual benefit.
Meanwhile, on August 22, 2025, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev also arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit at the invitation of National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to join the trilateral summit.
