Erdogan Vows Justice for Palestinians Amid Israeli Attacks

Erdogan

Ankara, August 28, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday declared that a day would come when the Palestinian people, subjected to daily violence and suffering, would finally see justice served.

“Those who shed the innocent’s blood will also drown in it,” Erdogan said in his address at the Turkish Gendarmerie and Coast Guard Academy Graduation Ceremony in Ankara.

The president’s remarks followed a move by Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus, who earlier this week convened an extraordinary parliamentary session to deliberate on Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza, as well as what he described as policies of genocide, oppression, and starvation.

According to a statement from the Speaker’s Office on Wednesday, Kurtulmus convened the session under Article 93 of the Constitution and Article 7 of the Parliament’s Rules of Procedure.

The extraordinary session underscored Ankara’s heightened concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and reaffirmed Türkiye’s continued political support for the Palestinian cause.
