Rabat, September 05, 2025 – The Europe Today: Crown Prince Moulay Hassan has inaugurated the newly reconstructed Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The stadium, part of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, now has a seating capacity of 68,500, making it the second-largest stadium in Morocco. Reconstruction work, which commenced in 2023, was completed in less than two years under the leadership of the Moroccan firm Orange Atelier in partnership with the global design company Populous.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by members of the workforce who contributed to the project’s completion. The facility will officially open to the public on Friday, when Morocco’s national football team faces Niger in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier. Ahead of the match, the Atlas Lions are scheduled to hold their final training session at 19:00 today, with kickoff set for 20:00 on Friday. Tickets for the event were sold out in record time.
The Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex also features an Olympic-size swimming pool, football training pitches, and a multisport indoor arena. The renovated stadium is set to play a central role in hosting major fixtures during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
