Jakarta, September 10, 2025 – The Europe Today: Indonesia has strongly condemned Israel’s recent strike targeting Hamas officials in Doha, Qatar, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law and a serious threat to regional peace and security.
In a statement issued Tuesday on X, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take “immediate and decisive measures” to stop Israel’s military actions in Gaza and ensure accountability for its operations.
“Indonesia condemns this aggression and repeats its calls on the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its mandate by taking immediate and decisive measures to halt Israel’s actions and ensure accountability,” the statement read.
The ministry stressed that the September 9 attack in Doha breached the UN Charter, violated Qatar’s sovereignty, and risked further escalation of conflict across the region. Indonesia also reaffirmed its solidarity with the Government and people of Qatar, and reiterated its firm support for diplomatic efforts to achieve a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace in the Middle East based on the Two-State Solution.
Israel has acknowledged carrying out the strike in Doha, with the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declaring: “Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility.” The operation reportedly targeted senior Hamas officials who were in Qatar for ceasefire discussions related to Gaza.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli strike on residential buildings in Doha, calling it an intolerable act that endangered regional security. Authorities announced that an investigation into the incident has been launched at the highest level, with findings to be made public in due course.
