New York, September 23, 2025 — The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting on Monday in New York with George Walker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Neuberger Berman, to discuss the current state and future prospects of cooperation.
President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with leading international financial institutions and reputable investment companies. He expressed confidence that the partnership with Neuberger Berman would continue to strengthen and contribute to Azerbaijan’s long-term financial and economic development.
The meeting highlighted the effective cooperation established between the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and Neuberger Berman since 2016. This collaboration has played a role in advancing Azerbaijan’s financial sector while also broadening international investment opportunities.
For his part, George Walker briefed President Aliyev on the firm’s global financial and investment operations. He voiced satisfaction with the successful partnership with Azerbaijan and noted that the company is exploring new opportunities to expand cooperation through additional projects.
