New York, September 24, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev underscored Azerbaijan’s pivotal role in strengthening transcontinental connectivity during his address to the 6th Caspian Business Forum, themed “Connectivity, Finance, and Energy along the Middle Corridor.”
“The Middle Corridor is a strategic project spanning a vast geography. It provides a reliable and secure route connecting Europe and Asia through the Caspian Sea, serving as the shortest and most efficient pathway for cargo transportation from Asia to Europe and back,” President Aliyev stated.
He highlighted that Azerbaijan’s geographic position—situated at the crossroads of two continents—has enabled the country to become a key player in international transportation and logistics.
“Today, we can proudly say that, thanks to Azerbaijan’s long-term vision and tireless efforts, a major project like the Middle Corridor, which provides better synergy between Asia and Europe, has become a reality,” the president said.
Emphasizing the factors that ensured the project’s success, Aliyev noted that its full commissioning was achieved not only due to Azerbaijan’s economic potential but also because of the political stability and security that prevail in the country.
