Riyadh, November 09, 2025 – The Europe Today: Kazakhstan’s top female tennis player, Elena Rybakina, achieved a historic milestone by winning the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan announced.
Rybakina secured a commanding victory over Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6, becoming the first Kazakh player ever to win the WTA Finals in women’s singles.
According to media reports, this marked the first time Rybakina had advanced to the final of the prestigious tournament. Her journey to the title included impressive wins over Amanda Anisimova of the United States and Iga Świątek of Poland.
Continuing her dominant form, Rybakina defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia (WTA No.10) 6-4, 6-4 during the group stage, maintaining an unbeaten run throughout the competition.
Her victory in Riyadh not only cements her place among the world’s top tennis players but also represents a landmark achievement for Kazakhstan’s sports history, inspiring a new generation of athletes in the country.
