Baku, December 3, 2025 – The Europe Today: As part of his official visit to Switzerland, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev held high-level meetings with key representatives of EuroAirport, Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), Kanadevia Inova, and industrial investor Roland Bartholet, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan reported.
The discussions focused on specific investment projects and the potential participation of Swiss companies in the development and modernization of Kazakhstan’s infrastructure and agro-industrial complex.
Tobias Markert, CEO of EuroAirport, highlighted the possibility of developing new cargo and transit air routes between Asia and Europe via Kazakhstan’s aviation hubs and expressed interest in collaborating on airport management initiatives.
During the meeting with Eduard Sigrist, Senior Vice President of MSC, discussions centered on expanding Kazakhstan’s port and logistics infrastructure and integrating further into the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. MSC is considering investments in port capacity expansion, terminal facilities, and railway routes linking Khorgos to the Caspian.
Tadashi Iwanaga, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kanadevia Inova, introduced projects on waste-to-energy conversion supported by international financial institutions, drawing on the company’s experience in major European and Asian cities.
Investor Roland Bartholet, representing Schnellstrom, proposed collaboration on energy storage systems, industrial energy infrastructure development, and localization of technological solutions in Kazakhstan.
Minister Kosherbayev emphasized that such mutually beneficial cooperation holds significant potential for technology transfer and expansion of investment projects involving Swiss participation. Particular attention was given to modern waste processing, alternative energy, energy efficiency, tourism infrastructure, and agro-industrial modernization.
The meetings underscored strong interest from Swiss businesses in Kazakhstan and their readiness to implement joint projects across strategic economic sectors. Minister Kosherbayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to providing favorable conditions for investors and adopting advanced technologies, strengthening the country’s position as a key trade and economic partner of Switzerland.
