Việtnam and Laos Vow to Strengthen People-to-People Diplomacy and Deepen Special Solidarity

Laos

Hanoi, December 6, 2025 – The Europe Today:  Vice Chairwoman of the Việtnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Hà Thị Nga and Permanent Vice President of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) Central Committee Inlavanh Keobounphanh reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing people-to-people diplomacy between the two countries during a meeting held in Hànội on Friday.

Nga highlighted that over the past five decades, under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the people of Laos have achieved significant progress in national liberation, state-building and socio-economic development. She noted that the LFNC has played an essential role in uniting all segments of society and mobilising resources, strength and creativity, contributing substantially to the nation’s overall achievements.

Expressing deep gratitude, Inlavanh Keobounphanh acknowledged the longstanding and consistent support provided by the Vietnamese Party, Government and people to Laos. She stressed that the recent high-level engagements — including successful meetings between the two Politburos, the two Prime Ministers, and joint investment promotion conferences — demonstrate the close cooperation, solidarity and shared vision that bind the two nations.

Building on the strong foundation of relations between their Parties, States and Governments, both sides agreed to intensify efforts to implement commitments made by the two Politburos and governments; strengthen delegation exchanges; and expand people-to-people interactions. They also pledged to share experiences in realising renewal policies in each country, contributing to the effective implementation of the Việt Nam–Laos Joint Statement issued during Party General Secretary Tô Lâm’s visit to Laos on December 1–2.

Reaffirming the long-standing tradition of special solidarity, the officials expressed determination to elevate the bilateral relationship to a new stage — characterised by “great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion.” This shared commitment reflects the two countries’ intertwined strategic interests and long-term vision for sustainable, resilient and mutually beneficial development.
