18th Korean Ambassador’s Junior & Cadet Taekwondo Championships Conclude in Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi, December 29, 2025 — The Europe Today: The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Pakistan successfully hosted the 18th Korean Ambassador’s Junior & Cadet Taekwondo Championships from December 26 to December 28, 2025, at the Shahbaz Sharif Sports Complex in Rawalpindi, drawing wide participation from across the country.

The championships were formally inaugurated during an opening ceremony attended by athletes, officials, and distinguished guests. Addressing the ceremony, H.E. Mr. Park Jaelark, Chargé d’Affaires of the Republic of Korea, highlighted the significance of Taekwondo as Korea’s national sport, emphasizing that it is not merely a physical activity but a discipline that instills values of respect, self-control, and consideration for others.

He expressed hope that the young participants would not only enhance their athletic skills but also learn Korean etiquette and cultural values through Taekwondo training, contributing to the development of both a healthy mind and a strong body.

A total of 530 Junior and Cadet athletes from different regions of Pakistan took part in the championships, reflecting the growing popularity of Taekwondo among youth in the country. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation Women Wing, officials from the Rawalpindi city administration, and representatives of the Pakistan Army, who encouraged the athletes and extended their best wishes for the successful conduct of the event.

The championships concluded with a strong message of sportsmanship, cultural exchange, and youth development, further strengthening people-to-people ties between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea.
