Baku, December 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to commemorate the 900th anniversary of the renowned Azerbaijani architect Ajami Nakhchivani.
The presidential directive designates 2026 as the year to celebrate the 900th anniversary of Ajami Nakhchivani’s birth, recognizing his outstanding contributions to Azerbaijani architecture.
Under the order, the Ministry of Culture, in coordination with the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, has been tasked with preparing and implementing a comprehensive action plan to mark the milestone, including events and initiatives that highlight the legacy of the eminent architect.
The celebration is expected to promote national cultural heritage and underscore Ajami Nakhchivani’s lasting influence on the architectural history of Azerbaijan.
