Prabowo

Jakarta, March 12, 2026 – The Europe Today: President Prabowo Subianto chaired a high-level meeting with the chairperson and members of the National Economic Council (Indonesia), along with several cabinet ministers, to review national fuel and gas supplies amid evolving global geopolitical and economic dynamics.

According to Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, the meeting focused on monitoring global economic developments and ensuring Indonesia’s energy security. He stated that the government remains committed to maintaining adequate national fuel and gas supplies to meet domestic demand.

“During the meeting, it was conveyed that national fuel and gas supplies are sufficient. The government will continue to monitor global energy price developments and prepare mitigation measures so that the impact on the state budget remains under control,” Wijaya said in a written statement on Thursday.

In addition to discussing energy stability, President Prabowo emphasized the need for strategic measures to strengthen the country’s economic resilience. He called for accelerating the national energy self-sufficiency program to reduce Indonesia’s dependence on global energy markets.

The president also underscored the importance of strengthening government digitalization efforts, including the implementation of pilot projects aimed at digitalizing the distribution of social assistance to improve the efficiency of state spending.

Furthermore, Prabowo urged government officials to remain vigilant in the face of rapidly changing global conditions, stressing that proactive policies and preparedness are essential to maintaining national economic stability.

Earlier, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia reassured the public that fuel stocks across Indonesia remain sufficient. He advised citizens not to worry or engage in panic buying, noting that production and distribution continue to meet public demand in line with the government’s operational stock standards.
