Azerbaijan, Slovakia Explore Judicial Cooperation and Human Rights Collaboration

Baku, April 10, 2026 – The Europe Today: Farhad Abdullayev met on April 9 with a visiting Slovak delegation led by Róbert Dobrovodský to discuss prospects for enhanced judicial cooperation and the protection of human rights.

During the meeting, Abdullayev highlighted the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, providing an overview of ongoing judicial reforms and the activities of the Constitutional Court. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding human and constitutional rights and noted the effective collaboration with the Ombudsman institution.

Dobrovodský, in turn, praised the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and stressed the significance of further advancing cooperation in the judicial and legal domains, alongside other sectors. He noted that shared experiences in human rights protection create valuable opportunities for meaningful collaboration between the two sides.

The discussions also covered potential joint projects, legal cooperation initiatives, and other matters of mutual interest. Sabina Aliyeva, along with senior officials from the Constitutional Court and the Ombudsman’s Office, attended the meeting.

Following the talks, the Slovak delegation toured the building of the Constitutional Court, gaining insight into its institutional framework and operations.
