Pakistan’s Azan Awais Scores Century on Test Debut Against Bangladesh

Dhaka, May 10, 2026 – The Europe Today: Pakistan opener Azan Awais announced himself on the international stage with a century on Test debut during the opening match of Pakistan’s away series against Bangladesh national cricket team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Resuming the third day unbeaten on 85, the left-handed batter reached the landmark in the 51st over of Pakistan’s innings after taking a single off Bangladeshi pacer Nahid Rana.

With the achievement, the 21-year-old became only the 14th Pakistani batter to score a century on Test debut, joining an elite list that includes former greats Javed Miandad, Younis Khan and Fawad Alam.

Azan’s composed innings provided Pakistan with a strong foundation in the opening Test as the young opener marked his arrival in international cricket in impressive fashion.
