Sheki, July 1, 2026 – The Europe Today: Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, on Tuesday visited the No. 6 Children’s Home Social Service Institution in Sheki, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to the welfare and social development of children deprived of parental care.

During the visit, Leyla Aliyeva attended an artistic performance presented by children residing at the institution. She also distributed gifts among the children and posed for commemorative photographs with them.

The institution has a long history of providing care and support to vulnerable children. Established in 1936 as Children’s Home No. 2, it has operated since 1988 under the name Sheki Mixed-Type Children’s Home. In 2018, a modern purpose-built facility for the institution was inaugurated with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation on the initiative and under the leadership of Mehriban Aliyeva.

The institution offers comprehensive care for children deprived of parental care, with a strong focus on their social rehabilitation and integration into society. A wide range of services is provided to promote the children’s overall well-being, including social, household, psychological, medical, educational and legal support, while various recreational and developmental activities are organized to ensure the effective use of their leisure time.
