Yevlakh, July 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and founder and head of the IDEA Public Union, visited the Juma Mosque in the city of Yevlakh on July 1 as part of her visit to the region.
During the visit, Leyla Aliyeva inspected the facilities and conditions provided at the mosque for worshippers and the performance of religious rites.
The mosque’s imam informed the visitor that the Juma Mosque, inaugurated in 1998, has the capacity to accommodate up to 600 worshippers at a time. He noted that the restoration of mosques in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories has brought great satisfaction to religious leaders and worshippers alike.
The imam also highlighted the continued attention and support extended by the state towards religious institutions, including the Juma Mosque, and expressed his gratitude to the country’s leadership for its efforts to preserve and promote places of worship.
At the conclusion of the visit, Leyla Aliyeva was presented with a copy of the Holy Quran as a commemorative gift.
