Azerbaijan Says TRIPP Talks Progressing Successfully

Azerbaijan

Baku, September 9, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that Azerbaijan’s direct involvement is essential for the implementation of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), as the project’s entry and exit points are located on the Azerbaijani border.

Speaking to journalists, Bayramov said the United States and Armenia were conducting the main negotiations on TRIPP, as part of the proposed project lies within Armenian territory. He added that U.S. partners regularly keep Azerbaijan informed about the progress of the talks.

“Since the project’s entry and exit points are located on the Azerbaijani border, it cannot be implemented without Azerbaijan’s direct involvement,” the minister said.

Bayramov noted that implementing all agreements would require some time, while emphasizing that Azerbaijan had been informed that the negotiations were progressing successfully.

“We believe the project should be implemented sooner, as it would be highly beneficial for Azerbaijan, Armenia, and other interested countries,” he said.

The foreign minister stated that Azerbaijan was continuing its work related to the project. In accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the necessary measures have also been initiated to restore railway lines in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

He further said that international partners interested in participating in the project were also involved in the ongoing negotiations.
