Uzbekistan Showcases Investment and Tourism Potential at the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade

Xiamen, September 15, 2024 – The Europe Today: The Consulate General of Uzbekistan actively participated in the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), held in Xiamen, Fujian Province, showcasing the nation’s economic and tourism potential. The event, attended by high-ranking officials, including the Deputy Prime Minister of China and senior representatives from Fujian Province, brought together delegations from 119 countries, underscoring its international significance.

Among the Uzbek delegation were representatives from the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade, alongside local authorities from the Andijan and Syrdarya regions. A dedicated pavilion at the exhibition highlighted Uzbekistan’s national goods, investment opportunities, and the potential for tourism development, attracting considerable attention from international investors.

One of the key outcomes of the fair was the signing of an investment project, “Energy Production from Waste,” between Xiamen Jinming Energy and Uzbekistan’s Andijan region. The project, which focuses on sustainable energy, marks an important step in implementing eco-friendly technologies in the region. As part of the agreement, 10 hectares of land within the Andijan regional landfill will be allocated for the project, providing a foundation for clean energy production.

This initiative reflects the growing commitment of both Uzbekistan and China to deepen their economic partnership, promote sustainable development, and foster an open, mutually beneficial economy. The collaboration is expected to attract high-quality investments and set new standards for environmental sustainability in Uzbekistan.

The event further cemented Uzbekistan’s position as a key player in international investment and trade while showcasing its readiness to embrace innovative, green technologies in its economic development strategy.
