Arkadag, March 14, 2025 – The Europe Today: On Thursday, the “smart” city of Arkadag hosted a prestigious ceremony to receive the Excellence Certificate from Hangzhou Dianzi University of the People’s Republic of China. This certificate affirms the city’s high environmental cleanliness and highlights its innovative architectural solutions. The event, which was covered by Turkmenistan’s official media, marks another significant instance of international recognition for Arkadag’s commitment to sustainable urban development.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Arkadag City administration, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Turkmenistan, as well as esteemed elders and youth.
A thematic exhibition was set up in the foyer of the main building of the International Horse Breeding Academy, named after Aba Annayev, where international certificates of Arkadag City were displayed alongside publications from Turkmenistan’s President, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
Speakers at the event emphasized Arkadag’s urban development project, which integrates cutting-edge technologies with national traditions, serving as a model for modern, sustainable cities. Special attention was given to the successful implementation of digital solutions within the city’s infrastructure, which contributes to its status as a “smart” city.
Chinese Ambassador Qian Naicheng highlighted Turkmenistan’s significant role in the development of “smart” cities and presented the Excellence Certificate to Deryageldi Orazov, Chairman of the State Committee for the Construction of Arkadag City, under the President of Turkmenistan.
During the ceremony, it was announced that 65 hectares of land from Ashgabat would be transferred to the administrative territory of Arkadag City, further contributing to its expansion and development.
The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their unwavering commitment to infrastructure development and for ensuring a high standard of living for the population of Turkmenistan.
