Uzbekistan and Pakistan Strengthen Cooperation in the Railway Sector

Islamabad, June 3, 2025 – The Europe Today: In a significant step toward enhancing regional connectivity and economic integration, His Excellency Alisher Tukhtaev held a constructive meeting in Islamabad with Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Railways of Pakistan.

The meeting focused on key areas of bilateral cooperation in the railway sector, particularly the implementation of strategic transport projects designed to strengthen regional connectivity, improve transit potential, and expand economic collaboration across Central and South Asia.

Special emphasis was placed on inter-agency coordination and the advancement of critical infrastructure initiatives that will facilitate closer ties among the peoples of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. Both parties recognized the importance of joint efforts in creating an integrated and efficient transport network to support sustainable development in the broader region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing an active dialogue and expressed readiness to take concrete, practical steps in line with their shared regional vision.
